Maserati MC20 Special Editions: Honoring the MC12 Legacy
Exactly 20 years ago, Maserati made a triumphant return to motorsports with the MC12. Now, the brand is honoring that legacy with two special edition MC20 models: the MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda.
Iconic Livery: MC20 Icona
The MC20 Icona is instantly recognizable with its stunning two-tone white and blue paint. Maserati calls this Bianco Audace Matte with Blue Stradale, reminiscent of the iconic MC12 Stradale. This model features:
- White Maserati Fuoriserie logos near the rear wheels
- An Italian flag motif on the fenders
- Blue Tridents on the wheel center caps
- Blue brake calipers
- A carbon fiber engine cover concealing the powerful twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6
Bold and Beautiful: MC20 Leggenda
The MC20 Leggenda takes its inspiration from the MC12 GT1 Vitaphone. Its predominantly black exterior with teal highlights, dubbed Nero Essenza and Digital Mint Matte, is simply striking. Key features include:
- Mint-colored Tridents on the wheel center caps
- Mint Fuoriserie logos low on the car
- Yellow Trident and MC20 badging
- Black brake calipers
- Another carbon fiber engine cover
Inside and Under the Hood
Both special editions boast black four-way monocoque racing seats. The Leggenda model has silver contrast stitching, while the Icona sports blue stitching. Beneath the stunning exteriors, these cars maintain the standard MC20 mechanicals:
- The Nettuno V-6 engine generates a whopping 621 horsepower
- With a lightweight body of just 3,300 pounds, they can hit 60 mph in a mere 2.9 seconds
Limited Edition Exclusivity
To mark this special anniversary, Maserati will produce only 20 units of each trim. So, if you’re lucky enough to see one, know that it’s a rare piece of automotive history.
In short, these MC20 editions are not just cars; they’re a tribute to Maserati’s storied racing heritage. Don’t miss your chance to witness perfection on wheels.
