A Seasoned Pro at the Wheel
Roma has worked at General Motors for over 30 years, including on the Corvette. Yep, you read that right. Tony Roma is no newbie—he’s been with GM for over three decades! He’s had his hands on some pretty impressive Cadillac models too, like the CT5, CT6, and those beastly Blackwings and V-Series cars. With all this experience, GM President Mark Reuss said Roma was “a natural fit to succeed Tadge.” Plus, Roma’s certified to drive on the Nurburgring. Talk about qualifications!
Jeuchter’s Legendary Run
Jeuchter departs from General Motors after a 47-year career with the automaker, working on the Corvette since 1993. Tadge Jeuchter’s career is nothing short of legendary. He’s been with GM for nearly half a century, and he’s been the driving force behind the Corvette since the early ‘90s. As chief engineer since 2006, he’s seen the C7 and the C8 come to life, and now he’s leaving on a high note with the upcoming C8 ZR1.
Jeuchter’s impact on the Corvette is monumental. He’s the guy who made the bold move to a mid-engine layout with the C8, a decision that was both daring and revolutionary. It’s safe to say he’s left a huge legacy.

Roma said that Jeuchter left “big shoes to fill” and that he and his team would “work every day to continue the strong legacy this nameplate deserves.” Roma’s fully aware of the huge responsibility he’s stepping into. He’s got some big shoes to fill, but he’s ready for the challenge. He’s committed to honoring the Corvette’s legacy and taking it to new heights.
After the ZR1 arrives, all eyes will be on the rumored Zora. Word on the street is it’s supposed to have 1,000 horsepower and all-wheel drive. Can you imagine? There are also whispers that Chevrolet might turn the Corvette into a brand of its own, possibly including an SUV, similar to what Ford did with the Mustang Mach-E. We’ll just have to wait and see where Roma takes things.
