Citroen E-C3 Review 2024

Citroën is resetting expectations with the launch of its fourth-generation C3, a game-changer in the B-segment for electric vehicles. With a focus on unparalleled comfort, cutting-edge technology, and exceptional value, the New ë-C3 emerges as a standout, proudly crafted in Europe. Set to hit the UK market in late 2024, this vehicle not only introduces a fresh and assertive design but also marks the debut of Citroën’s redesigned oval logo and an innovative three-level lighting signature inspired by the Citroën Oli concept.

A Bold New Design

The New ë-C3 doesn’t shy away from making a statement with its aesthetics. The redesigned front and rear lighting, featuring vertical and horizontal lenses, draw direct inspiration from the avant-garde Citroën Oli concept. Available in five premium paint finishes—Polar White, Montecarlo Blue, Elixir Red, Mercury Grey, and Perla Nera Black—the car also offers Citroën’s signature two-tone contrasting roof as a standard option in either black or white, enhancing its bold visual appeal.

Best-in-Class Comfort

For the first time in the C3 hatchback’s history, the New ë-C3 comes equipped with the Citroën Advanced Comfort® Suspension across all variants. This innovative system includes Progressive Hydraulic Cushions® designed to provide a smooth ride that feels like gliding over the road on a ‘magic carpet.’ The spacious interior mimics the comfort of a home living room, with Advanced Comfort® seats that integrate extra foam for a soft, supportive feel. The car’s dimensions are cleverly optimized to offer more headroom and enhanced visibility, boosting the overall sense of wellbeing for all passengers.

Practicality and Space

The New ë-C3 is designed with practicality in mind. Despite being only slightly larger than its predecessor, it offers significantly more room inside. The interior height of 1.57m grants front seat occupants an additional 30mm of headroom. It features intelligently designed storage spaces throughout, including on door panels and under the central armrest. The rear seats offer 60-40 modularity on Max versions, and with 310 liters of boot space, the vehicle is well-suited for everyday needs from grocery runs to longer trips.

Electric Made Easy

Citroën is making electric driving more accessible than ever with the New ë-C3. Powered by a 44kWh LFP battery, it boasts a WLTP range of up to 199 miles. The vehicle supports 100kW DC rapid charging, allowing for a recharge from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes, alongside standard AC charging options. With an 83kW motor and an automatic transmission that pushes the car from 0 to 62mph in about 11 seconds, the New ë-C3 offers ample power for daily commuting, particularly in urban settings.

Smart Connectivity and Convenience

The New Citroën ë-C3 is designed to keep drivers fully connected and in control. It incorporates the innovative e-ROUTES App, tailored specifically for Citroën electric vehicles. This app enhances the driving experience by allowing owners to plan journeys efficiently, monitor the charging status, and check the battery level in real time. Integrated within Citroën’s ‘Connect Plus’ connected services, the app ensures that navigation is always intuitive and adapted to electric vehicle requirements.

Additionally, using the MyCitroën App, drivers can manage their vehicle’s charging schedules and precondition the cabin temperature, ensuring comfort from the moment they step inside. The app also provides useful information such as the car’s location and battery status. This seamless integration between vehicle and smartphone is exemplified by the built-in smartphone holder in the ë-C3, which auto-launches the e-ROUTES app wirelessly, reinforcing the vehicle’s no-compromise focus on comfort and convenience.

C-Zen Lounge: A Tranquil Cabin Experience

In the New ë-C3, Citroën introduces the C-Zen Lounge, an embodiment of tranquility and innovative design within the cabin. This concept redefines traditional interior layouts by offering a clean, uncluttered view forward, enhancing the sense of calm and control for the driver and front passenger.

A standout feature in the C-Zen Lounge is the new Head-Up Display, which projects essential driving information onto a glossy black section between the top of the dashboard and the bottom of the windshield. This arrangement avoids the common redundancy of information displayed in traditional setups between the Head-Up Display and the instrument cluster, allowing drivers to keep their eyes on the road with all pertinent data easily visible.

Steering and Infotainment

The New ë-C3’s commitment to driver comfort and vehicle handling is evident in its new compact multi-functional steering wheel. Smaller and easier to maneuver, it’s adjustable for both reach and rake to ensure an unobstructed view of the Citroën Head-Up Display. Below this, a fabric-wrapped, softly curved horizontal “Sofa Design style” section adds a touch of warmth and visual appeal to the cockpit, amplifying the overall feelings of comfort and serenity.

Centrally positioned on the dashboard is a 10.25-inch color infotainment touchscreen. Angled towards the driver for optimal viewing and ease of use, the system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for convenient screen-mirroring from smartphones. This integration ensures that drivers can access their favorite apps and media with ease, making every journey in the New ë-C3 as enjoyable as it is comfortable.

Citroen E C3 Price

The New Citroën ë-C3 offers competitive pricing along with its impressive features, starting at 23,300 euros for the ë-C3 YOU variant. This pricing strategy makes the New ë-C3 an accessible option for those looking to enter the electric vehicle market without compromising on technology, comfort, or design.
